Tiberias – Jerusalem

This very special pilgrimage will commence with a direct flight which will take you from Dublin to Tel Aviv in just under 6 hours. You then begin your Pilgrimage in Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee from where you will visit Cana, Mount Tabor, Capernaum and Nazareth. A drive through the Jordan Valley will take you to Jerusalem where you will visit the Old City and all the main sites of interest and to Bethlehem where you will have an opportunity to visit the Church of the Nativity and see the Shepherds Fields.

Draft day to day programme

Friday 13 September

Depart Dublin on our direct flight to Tel Aviv.  On arrival meet and greet at the airport and transfer to Tiberias for overnight.

Saturday 14 September

Morning resting.  Commence the afternoon with an unforgettable boat trip on Sea of Galilee followed by a visit to Magdala the ancient city on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Afterwards return to Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

Sunday 15 September

Breakfast at hotel. Today visit Capernaum, see the house of St. Peter and the Synagogue.  Continue to the Church of the Primacy of St. Peter known as Mensa Christi and then to Tabgha - the site of the Miracle of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish.  Visit the Mount of Beatitudes - Site of the Sermon of the Mount

Return to Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

Monday 16 September

Breakfast at hotel.  Drive to Cana of Galilee - site of the first miracle at the wedding feast. Continue to Nazareth. Visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, see the Grotto and the home of the Holy Family and St. Joseph’s workshop, the synagogue and Mary’s Well. Drive to Mount Tabor scene of the Transfiguration and ascend the mountain by taxi. Return to Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

Tuesday 17 September

Breakfast at hotel. Check out and drive to the Jordan River Baptismal site. Continue to Jericho, view the Mount of Temptation and the historic Walls of Jericho. Continue through the Jordan Valley and onwards to Jerusalem. On arrival enjoy the panoramic view of old and new Jerusalem. Visit the place of the Ascension, The Pater Noster Church and Dominus Flevit. Afterwards visit the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. Check into hotel for dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Wednesday 18 September

Breakfast at hotel.   Drive through the Wilderness of Judea bypassing the Inn of the Good Samaritan, along the shores of the Dead Sea to Qumran - site of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Take a dip in the Dead Sea.   Return to hotel for dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.                                             

Thursday 19 September

Breakfast at hotel.   Drive to St. Stephen’s Gate. Enter the Old City. Visit the Church of St. Ann and Pool of Bethesda. Proceed to the Chapel of Flagellation.  Continue to Lithostrotos.  Walk along the Via Dolorosa.

Visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Walk through the Jewish Quarter and the Cardo to the Temple Area. See the Western Wall.   Return to hotel for dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Friday 20 September

Breakfast at hotel.   Drive to Bethlehem (10 km).  Visit the Church of the Nativity, the site of the Nativity, Manger Square and the Grotto of St. Jerome.  Visit the Shepherd’s Fields.   Meet with the Christian community in Bethlehem.  On return journey stop at the Haas Promenade to view the Kidron Valley.  Return to hotel. 

Dinner and overnight Jerusalem.                                                                                               

Saturday 21 September

Breakfast at hotel.  Depart to Tel Aviv Airport for your return direct flight home to Dublin.

Price:  €1,695.00 per person sharing (half board)
