SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT - 13th March 2022

The gift of God’s love and the following of Jesus is offered to all of us by God. It is a gift we struggle with, as evil in the world tempts us to live in Selfishness. Lent, and today’s gospel, reminds us of the glory of our calling to follow in Jesus’ ways.

Although we are strongly drawn to follow Jesus, we will experience strong conflicts and temptations to follow “other gospels’’. If we stay with Jesus in prayer and friendship we can overcome such conflicts.

It is all too easy to trust in our own possessions - and the more we have the easier it is. But they are all temporary. If we put our trust in the Resurrection and live in its spirit then we shall inherit eternal life.

FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME 6th February 2022

God in Christ chooses his apostles, men whom the world would think weak, maybe unsuitable, these are the ones he wants for himself. We are all called by God even though we may feel unworthy in his sight. That in itself is a sign of God’s grace: it is the way to his kingdom.

Sunday Missalette 30th January 2022

FOURTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME 30th January 2022

Jesus found much rejection of his message, especially in his own town.
The follower of Jesus will find rejection and even mockery of his message. Those who work for goodness and for justice will experience persecution for their faith and action. We pray to be true to our calling in this gospel.
